Ben Bokun is a news reporter and multimedia journalist. He recently worked at NBC 26 in Green Bay for over two years.

He is currently seeking a television news position as an MMJ/Reporter.

Prior to NBC 26, I worked as an MMJ in Rhinelander, Wis., at WJFW-TV - a local NBC affiliate - during my senior year at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. I also worked as the director and as a reporter for the Northwestern News Network sports component in 2020.

My Broadcasting Background

Growing up in Florida, Louisiana and the Chicago area, I was always enamored with the idea of journalism while watching my mother report for various newspapers and magazines. So for the majority of my life, as someone who loves meeting new people and talking, I’ve tailored my career aspirations towards MMJ work and broadcasting. I started as early as fourth grade, anchoring the school news, and continued doing play-by-play streams for my high school’s sporting events.

I believe journalism is imperative and I love telling the stories that shed light on unknown, pertinent topics, whether it’s about politics or an athlete — everyone and everything has a story.

To me, this profession is kind of like going on a field trip for school as a kid, but every single day. There’s so much to be excited about and each experience is fresh.
